Molloy, who won a host of medals during his Candy Stripes career, goes for a traditional 4-4-2 system, so here's his best 11 players he played with at the Brandywell and the reasons why....
1. Gerard Doherty
Gerard Doherty (Goalkeeper): Top class from when he signed for the club. Between him and David Forde, but Gerard's ability to pick out forwards and wingers with his passing ability and the amount of top class saves he made for us, meant he just pipped Fordie. He was outstanding and was also a great leader in the team.
2. Eddie McCallion
Eddie McCallion (Right-Back): Steady Eddie as they say. He played in some great teams and always got his place back if he ever lost it. Superb defender at right back or centre half. Brilliant professional and a brilliant role model for all the young lads.
3. Danny Lafferty
Danny Lafferty (Left-Back): A player who just got better and better when he came to Derry. Very good one on one defending but his ability on the ball and his link up with James McClean was unreal on the left hand side for those few seasons they played together.
4. Peter Hutton
Peter Hutton (Centre-Back): One of the best at reading the game. His positioning was second to none. It was superb to play ahead of him for a few years and he was definitely someone who I looked up to at Derry. He was a great captain.
