IN THE Premier Division relegation battle there were vital wins for struggling sides, Culmore and Lisahally this weekend as they both continue to make giant efforts towards avoiding the dreaded drop.
Culmore recorded an impressive victory over Trojans while relegation rivals, Lisahally secured an emphatic win over Don Bosco’s.
The three points secured by Culmore lifted them off the foot of the table, two points ahead of Porter’s who now replace them on the bottom rung.
Culmore also have the advantage of having a game in hand over the Foyle Street side and fellow relegation candidates, Don Bosco’s who they join on 16 points.
Bosco’s were dragged right back into the relegation battle following their heavy defeat against Lisahally who are slowly moving out of trouble.
And in the only other fixture in the top flight Abercorn defeated Brandywell Harps to move above Oxford Stars into third place.
Meanwhile, in Division One Crescent came from two goals down at half-time to defeat George’s Bar while promotion rivals Phoenix defeated The Bentley.
Elsewhere, Strand United recorded the win against Killea and Ballymoor secured a fine win over A.O.H. Harps
