DERRY CITY boss Ruaidhri Higgins has reportedly missed out on the signing of talented winger Jake Mulraney who is understood to be on the verge of signing for St Patrick's Athletic.

The former Ireland U21 international has been plying his trade in the MLS since 2020, representing Atlanta United and most recently Orlando City.

The 25 year-old Dubliner, a former Nottingham Forest youth, has also spent time in Scotland with Hearts and Inverness Caledonian Thistle.

The 'Independent' this morning reported that the left-footed Mulraney has snubbed 'a significant offer' from Derry City and is expected to join the Candy Stripes' League of Ireland rivals St Pat's in the coming days.

Higgins, who has already added Colm Whelan, Tadhg Ryan and Ben Doherty to his 2023 squad, is on the lookout for at least two more players before the League of Ireland transfer window shuts but insists he only wants players who show the right desire to play for the club.
