In a heartwarming gesture, the Stoke City winger sent a video to heartbroken mum, Bronagh Burke and her twins, Adam and Aoife with a card containing two tickets to the adventure park in Paris.

Bronagh's husband, Thomas, a former footballer and coach at Trojans Football Club, died in April after a heart attack at the age of 29.

"I thought I would wish you a big, very happy fourth birthday and I hope you enjoy your surprise trip to Disneyland. Have a good day!" said McClean.

Bronagh launched an appeal several weeks ago asking people from around the world to send birthday cards to help celebrate the twins' first birthday without their father.

Unbelievably the twins received over 3,000 cards from generous people across the globe.

Indeed, they received cards from all over Ireland, England and as far as New York and Australia!

McClean's special birthday gift came a week after local Youtube sensation, Adam Beales (Adam B) surprised the twins with a range of toys and a brand new Citroen C4 family car in a 'random act of kindness'.

In an emotional video filmed by local videographer, Charlie Simba which shows footage from the couple's wedding day, Bronagh explains to her twins how she met her husband.

And she insists he was 'proud' and 'honoured' to see how the people of Derry and beyond have pulled together to help her celebrate a special birthday for her son and daughter who are experiencing 'excruciating pain' and 'trauma' following their father's sudden passing.

"They have been through so much pain and are still dealing with a lot," explained Bronagh.

"They are on a journey like I am. The like of a small card means so much to them and if it makes them happy and gives them a wee smile on their face then my job is done.

"I think 'Burkey' would be beyond proud and I think he would be so honoured the way Derry and (people) throughout the world have acknowledged them with the likes of the cards but not alone the cards, but our journey with Adam B last week with the car.

"The whole of Derry have organised Adam and Aoife's birthday between bouncy castles, cupcakes, balloons, banners - everything.

"You name it, everyone has pulled together for the three of us and we're forever grateful for it."
