Title races going down to wire?

THE RACE for the title - in both divisions - of the Rath Mor Motors Saturday Morning League looks to be going down to the wire.

Phoenix Swifts defeated Abercorn and Clifton Villa also overcame the challenge of Brandywell Celtic which means that the race for the Premiership title now is down to two teams with Phoenix and Villa yet to meet.

Westbank defeated Newton Heath in the only other top flight game and in the Championship Foyle Harps and Magee University kept their title aspirations alive with wins over Benbradagh Colts and Northside Albion respectively while Red Star, Rocking Chair, Tamnaherin Celtic and Drumahoe also recorded victories.


Tonight (Tuesday), Blue Riband Cup semi-finals - Clifton Villa v Newton Heath (Lisnagelvin No. 2) and Phoenix Swifts v Brandywell Celtic (Prehen No 6).

Tomorrow (Wednesday), O’Bryan Cup preliminary round – A - Hatmore Harps v Northside Albion (Swilly Stadium); C - Rosemount v Abercorn (Lisnagelvin No 4).
