Tony Bellew bins copies of '˜The Sun' on Rupert Murdoch owned property

British professional boxer, Tony Bellew, binned copies of '˜The Sun' newspaper after taking part in an interview with the Rupert Murdoch owned radio station, TalkSPORT, on Wednesday.

‘The Sun’ has long been boycotted by Liverpudlians like Bellew after the way in which they reported on the Hillsborough Disaster which resulted in the deaths of 96 people in April 1989.

Bellew, a passionate Everton F.C. fan tweeted a picture which appeared to show several copies of ‘The Sun’ in a bin.

“Just finished @talkSPORT an [sic] seen a load of these on the desk! Put them in the place they belong! #JFT96 #TheRag,” tweeted Bellew to his more than 230,000 online followers.

This not the first time a high profile sports personality has expressed their distaste for ‘The Sun’.

Northern Ireland broadcaster, Colin Murray, announced via Twitter he was quitting his job at TalkSPORT when the station was bought by Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp earlier this year.

Belfast man, Murray, quit his job when he described the union between the radio station and News Corp as an “inevitable future working relationship between TalkSPORT and The S*n”.
