And ‘Hather Garnet’ owned by Siobhan Duffy looks the one to be on!

The September ‘13 bitch was a very impressive trap-to-line winner in her semi-final last week in a time of 18.90 and she will be favourite to land the final.

‘Hather Garnet’ has been a model of consistency over the last few months, winning five out of her last six races. Her early pace is her forte and that is a potent thing in a sprint final.

‘Killough Bluey’ who was second to ‘Hather Garnet’ in her semi-final last week and ‘Mercury Jaguar’ who won his semi-final in a time of 19.06 are the main dangers but although they are both very pacey greyhounds they are both are slow starters. So it has to be ‘Hather Garnet’ to win the E850 prize for her Derry based owner.

There will also be two semi-finals of the Ocean Feed Greyhound Plus tri distance competition down for decision on Saturday over 550 yards.

‘Tahina Corey’ and ‘Tahina Ace’, both trained by Vera Croarkin, were impressive winners of their heats last week and going into Saturday nights semi-finals they look the ones to be on. And both should have no trouble qualifying from their semi-finals and making it through to next weeks final for their in-form Co. Fermanagh trainer. The first race will be at 7.50pm.
