Declan Reed continued his build up for the Berlin Marathon in September with a decent 51m 56s runners-up finish in Sunday’s Monaghan 10 mile road race.

The resurgent Christy McMonagle took the M70 age group win in 76m 08s while Una Gavin followed up her Dunkineely 10K win on Saturday with a 78m 38s run on Sunday to finish third F55. Foyle Valley’s Stephen Connor was seventh overall with a 57m 56ss clocking.
At the Mary Peters track on Saturday meantime, the City of Derry Spartans juvenile squad finished fifth in the NI Youth Development League final, replicating their position after the three rounds of the T&F League for U13/15/17 athletes
