Reigning Ulster middleweight champion, Conor Coyle will top the bill in the Co. Derry Amateur Boxing Board’s top class international tournament in the Guildhall next Friday, October 25th.
The highly rated St Joseph’s ABC boxer will be among the main attractions on the night as a Co. Derry Select take on a talented Scottish selection.
The Co. Derry squad is made up of a host of current and former Irish champions, including Callum Nash (Ring ABC), and Oakleaf’s trio of Irish titlists, Ryan Greene, Brett McGinty and Francie Stokes.
There will be a total of 14 contests down for decision on the night.
The show is being held in conjunction with this year’s City of Culture celebrations.
“We have a strong selection of boxers and rather than matching them with local opposition, we had to opt for an international team to match that strength,” said Derry County Board Secretary, Kevin Duffy.
“I think the event will prove to be a fabulous occasion in the refurbished Guildhall - a magnificent building which has seen so many great boxing events down through the years.” he added.
Admission is £10 or £5 concessionary. Further details will be published in next week’s editions of the “Journal”.
