FORMER Open Champion, Darren Clarke, will pay a special visit to Derry on Wednesday next, March 6th, to officially open the new “Golf Store Europe,” which is located at the Foyle Golf Club Driving Range.

The locally owned business, which was founded six years ago by Dermot Hegarty, extended into the online market in 2009 and the popular local firm continues to flourish.

In fact, from a staff of just two back in 2006, Golf Store Europe now employs 32 local people as its popularity continues to grow at the Ballyarnett venue following the introduction of a brand new 3,500 sq. ft. high tech Golf Shop.

Having won the British Open back in 2011, Dungannon’s Darren Clarke has agreed to fit the Derry visit into his busy itinerary, to officially open the new establishment and, no doubt, the Foyle Golf Club Driving Range will prove to be a hive of activity on Wednesday next.

Proprietor, Dermot Hegarty, is understandably delighted with the successful expansion of his business and he extends a open invitation to all local golfing enthusiasts to visit the store and, of course, meet Darren Clarke in person next Wednesday.
