Delighted Dolan claims Ballyliffin Pro-Am title

IN THE 16 year history of the Ballyliffin Pro Am there has not been a more popular winner than John Dolan, the former professional at the Inishowen club outplayed the huge field of 82 professionals with a four under total of 141.

Off the championship tees, The Old Links and Glashedy are ultimate examinations of golfing skill - in the final analysis, John was the master of both, scoring a three under par ‘68’ on The Old on Saturday and a superb 71 on Glashedy on Sunday.

Nearest to the Ballybunion man was John Kelly (St Margaret’s) who finished on 142 (71 & 70)’. Mr Captain Colm McCarroll.

The winning team which including Pro. David Higgins, Billy Fanning, Bill Connolly and PJ Butler won three days golf in Huelva, Andalucia courtesy of competition sponsors, the Spanish Tourist Board in Ireland, the Andalucia Tourist Board and Huelva Tourist Board.

The ladies Tyrone & Fermanagh betterball team recorded a 4-1 win over close neighbours Newtownstewart G.C on Sunday the second leg is nest Sunday at the Baronscourt course.

In last week’s mixed Foursomes event Caroline Connolly, Jennifer Rouse, Frankie Connolly and Sean Devine were the Greensomes teams winners with 40 pts, the same total as runners-up Anne Sharkey, Bernie O’Kane Ryan McGowan and Conor Sharkey.

Last week’s Junior competition was kindly sponsored by the club’s premier golfer, Enda Kennedy and saw Caolan Crawford continue his splendid run of form returning an excellent 64 nett,
