Paddy Toland Kickboxing returns to Derry tomorrow night at the Glassworks with former double European kickboxing champion, Aaron McCarron making a return to the ring to headline an action-packed night of top class entertainment.
It will be the first time PT’s kickboxing club have staged a show in the Lower Great James’ Street venue and there will be 20 fights down for decision on the night.
The already sold out show, features the long awaited return of Bishop’s Street fighter, McCarron as he bids to reclaim his former titles and take a step towards claiming a world K1 title.
Also on the bill will be current ISKA Junior champion, Damien “Kid Dynamite” Duddy, and current Irish junior Welterweight champion Brian Houston, Jay “Sting ray” McVeigh, Andrew “Rockin” McLaughlin, Laurence Taggart, Stephen Whoriskey, Eamon “The Mean Machine” Deane and Noel “The Body snatcher” Morrison amongst others.
PRO for PT’s Gym, Sean McGill anticipates an exciting night of action and insists the show will give local fighters the opportunity to showcase their talents ahead of the upcoming Professional kickboxing tournament scheduled for The Venue, Ebrington next November as part of the City of Culture celebrations.
“This is a chance for PT’s amateur fighters to showcase their skills,” he said. “We have a Professional K1 and Kickboxing tournament in ‘The Venue’ in November, so all fighters will be determined to put on a good display to get a chance to fight on that bill.”
Fight fans will be in for an added treat on the show with several K1 title fights which include low kicks as well as high kicks and knees.
It promises to be an excellent night of entertainment, not to be missed. Doors are open at 6pm, with the first fight scheduled for 6.30m. For further information call 07849777842.
