Huge turnout expected for Foyle Captain’s Day

FOYLE GOLF Club’s hugely popular Captain, Mr. Kevin Dunn will stage what’s expected to be the largest Captain’s Day ever to be staged at the Ballyarnet club tomorrow.

The course will no doubt be a hive of activity with close to 200 golfers expected to take part and Emmett McNally, Matt Donnell, Paddy McQuilkin and Joe Doran have the honour of getting the event underway at 7.40 a.m. tomorrow.

Players are asked to book in at least 15 minutes before their alloted tee time as with a full timesheet listed below late arrivals may not be accommodated later.

The presentation meal will take place at Pitcher’s Bar and Restaurant tomorrow night at 8 p.m and 150 guest are invited.

The annual pre-Captain’s Day Scramble and Putting competition for Ladies, Gents and Juveniles will tee off at 5.30 p.m tomorrow.

The Cable & Accessories sponsored annual anniversary Open Stableford played at Foyle on Saturday last saw 130 take to the plush Ballyarnett fairways and regular visitor Ballyliffin member, Niall McDermott (10) produced an excellent winning score of 42 points, two points clear of runner-up, Damien Mc Kenna (scr.) who produced a stunning round of four under par for his 40 points.

Foyle hosted Narrin & Portnoo in the quarter-final home leg of the Ulster Cup on Sunday last and Gary Jackson’s charges produced an excellent performance to win 6.5 to 0.5 and take a formidable advantage into the away leg on Sunday, August 7th.
