Phelan claims Quigley Memorial Cup win

The Richard Quigley 30th Anniversary snooker competition has taken place in Pilots Row and after a very competitive final between Charlie Phelan and Paul Johnson, Phelan emerged victorious.

Thirty two participants took part in the competition and speaking on the night of the competition, Charlie McMenamin from the local Bogside and Brandywell Monument Committee thanked the Pilots Row snooker club, staff and users for their support of the competition and Joe Cunningham for helping organise it.

“We felt it was very important that it took place this year,” explained Mr McMenamin, “Richard was highly regarded in the local community and a great sportsman. It was great to see that people who had taken part in the original tournament were able to take part in this one alongside young people who use the centre on a daily basis.
