Gransha Park will host the annual St. Patrick’s Weekend 5K this Saturday morning and the usual big turnout is anticipated for what is one of the North West’s most popular early season road races.
Start time is 11.00 a.m. and allows plenty of time to run, enjoy the post race refreshments, go home and clean up for any planned pre-St. Patrick’s Day celebrations. There is also a Kids 1K Fun Run, with a 10.30 a.m. start and the race HQ is the U3A Foyle Building in the middle of the Gransha grounds.
Entries for both races will be taken on the day from 9.30 a.m. in the U3A premises and all prospective runners, especially the fun runners are reminded to arrive at the venue in good time in order to sign on.
Because of the short window between the Fun Run and 5K, both use the same basic start lap, the Fun Run will start sharp at 10.30 a.m. sharp so latecomers cannot be accommodated!
Medals and ‘Goody Bags’ are on offer to all Fun Run finishers and the 5K event offers an accurate, fast course with lots of spot prizes and suitable rewards for the male and female winners.
