CITY OF Derry Captain, Mr Jack Farland has lauded with praise all those involved in staging and participating in one of the club’s most successful Open Weeks in recent years, at the Open Week prizegiving last weekend.

Over 200 visitors descended on the Prehen fairways throughout this past week with in excess of 1,200 cards taken out across all competitions during the course of a highly successful week.

And the club Captain, who addressed all participants at the prizegiving evening, acknowledged the huge amount of work that the green staff and member volunteers had put in after the recent inclement weather in making sure the course was in pristine condition.

He also commended the work of the competition’s Committee and the staff of Head Professional, Sam Smallwoods in making the Open Week such a success.

Finally, he thanked all the City of Derry Golf Club sponsors for their continued involvement with the club and welcomed the new sponsors who have become involved this year.
