ANTHONY Thompson produced the goods at Greencastle on Sunday to claim the McCauley Cup, sponsored by McCauley Properties having recorded 39 points to win by one.
The competition enjoyed a good turnout despite the final day of the Irish Open at Royal Portrush.
The 14 handicapper carded five consecutive pars on the back nine to give him the winning total.
A break of tie was called upon to identify second and third places and Martin Harvey (15), had the better back nine and finished runner-up with John McCartney (13) next best in third.
Willie Havlin continued his current form to win the grosss prize with 32 points and the ‘nines’ went to Danny McGonigle (21 pts.) and Terence McMenamin (22 pts.) respectively.
The club extends its sincere thanks to the competition’s loyal sponsors.
