Semple, who won a host of top flight honours during his career, is now a coach with Maiden City Soccer Academy and he goes for a 3-4-3 formation.
So here's Semps best 11 players he played with and the reasons why....
9. Lee Feeney
Lee Feeney (Attacking Midfielder/No 10 - Linfield): Another talented gifted footballer, it just looked natural and easy for him to glide past players and make things happen. Brilliant with both feet and another great striker of a ball. With the talent Feeno had he should have played at a higher level and for a lot longer.
10. Glenn Ferguson
Glenn Ferguson (Striker - Linfield): Irish league legend and rightly so, could score all types of goals and did this at every club he was at. Spike was brilliant in the air, had a great touch and was just so strong, but his all round play was excellent. What I always noticed was how hard he worked off the ball, always put in a shift and did a lot for the players around him. Great pro and example to the younger players.
11. Liam Coyle
Liam Coyle (Striker - Derry City): Don't think I have to say much here. Another legend and what a player. I'm so lucky I got the chance to play with Coyler and got to see the magic up close, it really was like a magic show at times. His ability to read the game then get himself into positions to receive the ball, his touch and body movement turning defenders inside out before usually bending in the top corner or finding a great through ball. It all just looked natural and easy for Coyler. Game changer.
12. John Connolly
John Connolly (Substitute - Institute): Tough one between JC and Michael Doherty who were both two of the best goalkeepers in the Irish league and both had the same kind of qualities. But I'm going with JC who was always a great pro and still is, still playing and has the same hunger, passion and desire for the game as he did then. Great organiser and demanded the best from the players in front of him, and apparently still loves a moan.
