Niall Kerlin and Noel McDermott, who are part of the Clann na Gael Walk/Run group, are taking on the ‘David Goggins Challenge’ to raise money for Motor Neurone Disease Northern Ireland and Western ICP Respiratory Pathway.

Noel told how he has chosen to run for the Motor Neurone Disease NI charity, as a family friend has been suffering from the disease and ‘we can see first hand how hard it is on her young family.’

“So we would like to try raise awareness off this great charity.”

Niall has chosen to do the challenge in memory of his mother.

“I have chosen to do this challenge for The Home Respiratory care team in memory of Mammy. This organisation was a real lifeline to both Mammy and our family during her illness. The service they provided allowed Mammy to stay at home enjoying time with her family in the final months of her life.”

The pair, from Aughabrack, will start the challenge on Friday morning, April 22 at 8am and it will continue until 8am on Sunday morning.
