Beer yoga, a phenomenon sweeping the world, is coming to the Dunmore Gardens’ Harvest Festival which takes place on September 9.
The practice, which combines drinking craft beer with a light yoga workout, originated in Germany before spreading to Asia. It will now form part of Dunmore Gardens’ Harvest Festival which will take over the grounds of the historic house for a day of fun, artisan crafts and some of the best brewers that the North-West has to offer thanks to a tie up with Sippy Fest- the North West’s largest brewing celebration.
The Harvest Festival will see 20 of the finest producers, street food vendors, and children’s entertainment take over the gardens and marquee, while a craft beer festival will take place in the barn area, featuring brewers such as Kinnegar Brewing from Rathmullan, Walled City Brewery from Derry, Lacada Brewing from Portrush, O’Connor Craft Brewing from Faughanvale, with more to be announced, as the gardens are thrown open for the day.
Amelia McFarland, Dunmore Gardens set the scene for the day: “Dunmore Gardens’ Harvest Festival promises to be a fantastic day out. There are so many aspects of the festival to look forward to from craft beer, sweet treats and tasty food all from talented local vendors. There will also be plenty of activities for the kids to do in the beautiful surroundings of the walled gardens - it's a day out for the entire family.
"I just can’t wait to throw open the our gates at noon on September. What better way to celebrate the end of summer than with a craft drink in hand, eating great food and seeing the little ones enjoy themselves among the flowers."
Connor Doherty from Sippy Fest, said he was delighted to be taking part in the Harvest Festival: “Dunmore Gardens is a stunning venue and we can’t wait to take over the barn. We’re planning something special with a strong line up of great drinks, live music and more. We’re also really excited for the beer yoga, which is completely new to the North-West. Not only will it be one of the most striking places to do a yoga workout, it’ll be one of the most striking places to do a beer yoga workout. It’s led by a very experienced and excellent teacher, and is open to experts and novices alike.”
Dunmore Gardens’ Harvest Festival kicks off at noon on September 9 with early bird tickets on sale for entry to both Harvest Festival and beer festival priced at €7.50.
On the day, prices will be €5 entry into the Harvest Festival and €5 into the beer festival.
