Public urged to help compile 100 objects that define Derry

Derry City Council’s Heritage and Museum Service are planning an innovative exhibition that needs your help!

Since its establishment in early 1990, they have built up a collection of over 10,000 objects and archives, all of which illustrate the unique heritage of the city.

Now ready to launch a special exhibition titled ‘A history of Derry in 100 objects’ as part of the UK City of Culture celebrations, they are seeking the input and creativity of local people and groups.

The Museum Service are looking for the public to put forward what they think represents the richness of our history in a single object. Entries are to be made with a short description detailing why the item has been suggested.

The exhibition will be launched on Culture Night, September 20, at the Tower Museum. If you are interested in proposing an object for exhibition, or your venue is keen to display an object contact Bernadette Walsh, Archivist at the Foyle Valley Railway Museum or download the relevant forms on
