The wait is almost over. Thousands of music fans are expected to descend upon Ebrington Square tonight for the staging of Derry’s eagerly awaited Club MTV concert.
The organisers, Legacy Promotions Iona Ltd, want everyone at the concert to enjoy themselves but there are a few rules and regulations that music fans must adhere to.
Derry’s Peace Bridge will be closed to the public from 1p.m. on Saturday August 15 to cater for the concert.
There will be a number of parking restrictions in place around Ebrington in the run-up to and during the concert.
Gates will open at 4:00p.m. and there will be two entry sites to the concert venue; Gate A - Peace Bridge and Gate B - St. Columb’s Road.
Queuing is expected and at peak times it could take up to one hour to gain entry to the concert venue.
Music fans attending the concert are asked to have their tickets ready at the gate entrance.
Search procedures will be in operation and prohibited items will be confiscated. These include food, drink, chairs, umbrellas, flags, flares, glass and any illegal substances.
The wearing of sports tops and political emblems is prohibited.
Each ticket holder will be permitted to take up to 500ml of water into the concert venue. However, the water container must be plastic and the seal must be unbroken.
There are no ATMs at the concert venue.
Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult, with a maximum of three children per adult.
The concert has been organised by Derry based events company Legacy Promotions Iona Ltd in conjunction with MTV.
