One of author Julia Donaldson, and illustrator Axel Scheffler’s, most famous characters, the ‘Gruffalo’, joined children and their families after they won the visit in a competition organised by The Big Lunch, the UK’s annual get together for neighbours, with support from Magic Light pictures.

Margaret Cunningham, who organised the visit, said, “We have been hosting a Big Lunch annually in Farland Way with support from Habinteg Housing and the Cosy Club and were delighted to welcome the Gruffalo to Inchview to share the fun of the Big Lunch and help us prepare for this year when we will have the theme ‘Fairytale in a Farland (a)Way!’,” she said.

The main Big Lunch date for this year is June 12, but this date is flexible and can be changed to fit in with local events. Get your own free Big Lunch street party pack with tips to plan your own event including ‘Gruffalo’ stickers and seeds to grow your lunch  www.thebiglunch.com
