A Derry school’s choir will this week join internationally renowned The Priests at a special Christmas show in the city.

The Priests - Derry clerics Father Eugene and Martin O’Hagan and Fr David Delargy - play the Millennium Forum this Friday night promising much loved classics such as Ave Maria, Pie Jesu and Amazing Grace, as well as some of the most cherished seasonal songs of all time - everything from Ding Dong Merrily On High to O Come All Ye Faithful, to Silent Night.

And they will be joined on stage at the Derry concert by St Cecilia’s College Choir.

The Derry Christmas show marks the end of another busy and successful year for the trio. Fr Eugene has been adjusting to additional responsibilities in the Bishop’s office, a role which he took in April 2011 whilst Frs David and Martin, in addition to focussing on their large parishes, have been involved in everything from church renovation to helping to launch the Save and Donate charity website initiative.

The Priests will also record a new album and tour the US in 2013.

“We enjoy singing enormously”, says Fr Eugene, “We realise that commercial projects very often have a shelf life, however, we would very much like to continue doing this forever.

“I certainly know that Martin, David and I will continue to sing, whatever comes, because it gives us such pleasure to do so. Our fervent hope is that it continues to bring pleasure to everybody else.” Tickets for the Derry show is available online at or by telephoning 7126 44 55
