Speaking to the Journal Paul explained, “The last album, Big World, had a big cinematic sound. On the new album I’ve tried to write songs that can stand up on their own with an acoustic guitar. There’s no building around them, instead there’s a cleaner sound.”

All eleven tracks on the 40-year-old’s latest record have been penned by Paul himself, and instead of using a high-tech recording studio to record the tracks, he instead stayed closer to home.

“Once everyone has left the house in the mornings my living room becomes my studio. It’s what I’ve always done and it just feels the best way for me to work. I’ve bought a few bits and bobs over the years and I now record all day at home.”

The new album is already getting great airplay as the first radio single ‘Still In Love With You’ has been very well received with many saying that the latest release is Casey’s best to date.

Casey has also been working closely with his America publisher and as a result top music executives from the ABC television network recently chose ‘Still In Love With You’ to feature in hit prime-time comedy series ‘The Neighbors’.

Paul said, “It’s been a great boost for me Stateside. I’m influenced by American music and the Americans seem to love Irish music so the album is going down well. But the playing of the first single on a prime-time television show was great exposure. They only got the album two months ago and it all happened really quickly.”

After the success of Casey’s huge ‘Homegrown’ concert, the intimate event at Cultúrann next week is sure to be the hottest ticket in town as the Derry musician embarks on a new chapter in his career.

Special guest at Cultúrlann on the night will be Paddy Nash. Doors open at 8pm and tickets are available from Cool Discs, at An Culturlann or online at
