Chart topper Pixie Lott has been added to the bill for Derry’s Peace One Day concert.
As first mooted in the Journal in April, the pop sensation will join Imelda May, Newton Faulkner, Guillemots and The Wonder Villains at the Ebrington concert on June 21.
Peace One Day founder Jeremy Gilley said today, “I’m delighted to welcome Pixie to the line-up. It’s fantastic to have such wonderful artists helping to launch the festival and raise awareness of Peace One Day and the Global Truce 2012 campaign.”
Hollywood actor Jude Law is one of the driving forces behind the Ebrington concert, which will form part of the finale to the Cultural Olympiad.
“I’m very excited to be coming to Derry-Londonderry for the Peace One Day celebration,” Law said.
“It will be wonderful night. We’re grateful to all the artists and everyone from the city who is helping to make it possible.”
The Derry concert is the first show in Northern Ireland for Gilley’s Peace One Day campaign, which in 2001 led a process that resulted in the unanimous adoption by UN member states of the first ever annual day of global ceasefire and non-violence
Tickets for the concert are priced at £22.50 and are available from ticketmaster and locally from Cool Discs and a Ticketmaster booth in Foyleside shopping centre.
