Tickets for the Return of Nile Rodgers and Chic at Hallowe’en sold out yesterday in just three hours - making it “one of the fastest selling shows of 2013”, according to the Millennium Forum’s Chief Executive, David McLaughlin.
Disco fans had been queued around the block to buy tickets when they went on sale yesterday morning. Chic, presented by Celtronic in association with Chibuku, was one of the smash hits of the 2013 City of Culture year with their sell-out concert at the Venue last month. Tickets for the return show at Hallowe’en went on sale at 9.30am yesterday morning and were completely sold out by lunchtime. A spokesman for Celtronic said: “We always knew that bringing back Nile Rodgers and Chic was going to be popular, but we never expected the show to sell out as quickly as it did. Everyone who saw them at The Venue in July said it was the gig of the year and nobody wanted to be disappointed second time around.
“Hallowe’en is one of the biggest nights in the city and the perfect night to bring them back. It’s going to be a 70s disco themed party and it’s going to be another wonderful night.”
