Thousands of revellers are gearing up for day two of BBC Radio 1’s Big Weeekend in Derry.
Around 12,000 dance music lovers partied in Ebrington Square last night for the opening of the major three-day event as part of UK City of Culture 2013.
A similar number of music fans are already starting to queue for today’s star-studded programme which includes Biffy Clyro, The Saturdays, Ellie Goulding, Labrinth and Two Door Cinema Club.
Calvin Harris closed the show last night amid a spectacular lighting and fireworks display which had the crowd in ecstasy as the night ended.
The DJ headlined with a 60-minute set which included his biggest hits Bounce, Drinking From The Bottle and We Found Love.
Two acts - AlunaGeorge and Angel Haze - had to pull out yesterday after an emergency landing at Heathrow closed the runway.
Dizzee Rascal was the first to play the main stage on Friday. The crowd was already going wild when Robbie Williams made a surprise cameo appearance with the rapper bringing him on to the stage to perform their duet Goin’ Crazy.
The former Take That member received a rapturous welcome as he greeted the massive crowd rocking the banks of the Foyle.
International superstar Bruno Mars will close the show on Sunday night.
Other stars performing on Sunday include Olly Murs, Little Mix, The Script, Thirty Seconds to Mars and Vampire Weekend.
