Former X Factor star Eoghan Quigg from Dungiven is back in the headlines after featuring in a two-page spread in a national glossy magazine.
Four years ago the former St. Patrick’s College student rose to fame when he reached the live stages of the hit ITV show, making it to the final three out of almost 200,000 entrants. Since then, the 20-year-old has appeared in local pantomine and is currently rehearsing for a Strictly Come Dancing ‘Children In Need’ Special and the lead role in the December panto ‘Aladdin’ at the Braid Arts Centre in Ballymena.
Appearing on the front cover of the current edition of ‘Now’, under the headline “ OMG! X Factor star gets buff”, the question and answer interview reveals how he still gets stopped in the street.
Eoghan told the ‘Journal’ yesterday the shoot, which happened three weeks ago, was fun.
“I got a phone call and they wanted to see what I was doing and what I was up to. It was all done in a day, and it was fun.”
The feature is another of the magazine’s ‘X Factor transformations’ and shows the young singer posing in boxing shorts.
“People can see I’m not that wee boy!” he said, in the article.
Writing songs, and revealing he would like to release an album, Eoghan told the magazine he had no regrets with X Factor.
The magazine also asks Eoghan about his Twitter following (@EoghanQuigg92), and his 22,610 followers which he said was “cool for the fans”.
He said he has had plenty of positive reaction to the magazine shoot, and stresses the pictures were definitely not photoshopped.
Posting on his Twitter account on Tuesday, Eoghan he wrote: “I take it you’ve seen the photo-shoot pics, and no there not photoshopped..#LOL” (sic)
