Among the Hallowe’en activities in Limavady this weekend is a special midnight movie film screening of Stanley Kubrick’s masterpiece ‘The Shining’ on Friday, 30 October at 10.30pm in the Roe Valley Arts and Cultural Ce ntre.
Funded by Film Hub NI, the award-winning The Shining is rated certificate 15. Advance booking recommended.
Council’s annual Limavady Hallowe’en fireworks extravaganza takes place on Halloween night, Saturday, 31 October at Roe Mill Road Recreation Grounds.
“From 6pm there will be plenty of entertainment from DJ Ned, with a prize for the best homemade fancy dress costume, with the fireworks display dazzling the sky from 7pm. Admission is free so come along and join in the fu,” said a Council spokesperson.
“Get in the Hallowe’en mood on Thursday, 29 October by visiting Roe Valley Arts and Cultural Centre and listen to Dr Bob Curran as he talks about Conjurers and Cunning Men and explores stories of sorcerers and magicians in both Irish mythology and folktales. Admission is free.”
From Thursday, 29 October – Saturday, 31 October, a Scary Art Club for children will take place at the Arts Centre.

On Saturday, 31 October a children’s’ Hallowe’en Party will take place at Drumceatt Square, Roe Valley Arts and Cultural Centre, from 3-5pm.
There will be lots of music and games as well as the chance to win prizes for the best fancy dress costumes, sponsored by Roe Valley Chamber of Commerce. Admission is free.
