Kinship Care NI, in partnership with Derry City & Strabane District Council and Donegal County Council, want to develop services for young people on the border immediately south of Derry city as well as in Strabane and Lifford.

Sinn Féin Councillor Patricia Logue said: “I would encourage all young people living in these areas to take part. Often young people living in rural communities feel left out from or cut off from a range of services and facilities available to young people a few miles down the road.

“The problem of isolation experienced by young people in rural Ireland can lead to depression and other, more serious problems. Teenagers, in particular, need a place where they can be teenagers, a safe environment to socialise in.”
