Gareth Borrow is one of five talented singers who make up the final five of ‘Hometown’ after auditioning last year in Dublin.

Beating off 1,000 competitors, he’s now set to make it big in what is said to be the next Westlife.

He said, “I’ve always wanted a career in music so I decided to just go for it. It’s worked out so that’s great!”

Already predicting great things for the band Louis Walsh said, “I’m 100 per cent happy with the lads, with the songs, they’re absolutely amazing.”

In a twist of fate Gareth had to beat off local competition from Dungiven star Eoghan Quigg and Dylan Reid as they both made it down to the final ten.

Gareth is no stranger to fame, having made it down to the final twelve in the Andrew Lloyd Webber talent contest I’d Do Anything, a competition which searched for Oliver to play in the West End musical of the same name.

It was aired on BBC One in 2008 when Gareth was just 12, and while he didn’t get one of three coveted spots as Oliver, he performed in the show for three nights a week for three months.
