The first episode of ‘Puffin Rock’, a cartoon produced by Derry based company Dog Ears, is to premiere on Monday.
The show, which has been made in the company’s base on Bishop Street, will air on RTEjr at 8.10am, and again at 1.10pm on Monday 12th January.
A total of 39 episodes, each lasting seven minutes, have been produced, and the majority of the characters have been voiced by Derry and Donegal people.
However, the job of narrator has been filled by actor Chris O’Dowd, best known for his successful show ‘Moone Boy’.
Editorial Director Laura Campbell said, “We are very much looking forward to the launch next week.
“It is aimed at the pre-school age but we believe it will have an audience between the ages of two to seven and has general broad appeal.
“The show will also air on NickJR in a few months time and a range of books connected to the programme will be published by Penguin Books later in the year.”
RTEjr is available on Saorview channel 7 and on Sky channel 635 in NI, 624 in Ireland.
