Derry pop star Nadine Coyle - who is appearing in one of America’s most watched reality shows - has had her Derry accent subtitled by US broadcasters.
The former Thornhill pupil is currently appearing as a guest judge on America’s Next Top Model.
During an episode broadcast at the weekend in America, broadcasters deemed it necessary to help viewers understand the Girls Aloud star by providing on screen subtitles.
The pop star, who now resides in California, was also referred to as a former member of Girls Aloud - sure to spark further rumours of a departure from the multi million selling girl group.
Supposed difficulties over viewers understanding her accent also cut short Nadine’s Girl’s Aloud bandmate Cheryl Cole’s stint as a judge on the US version of X-Factor.
The subtitles on next Top Model is not the first time Nadine’s accent has been the centre of media attention. In 2008, chat show host Jonathan Ross told the Derry singer he could not understand what she was saying during an interview.
Her accent is also the subject of a Twitter account parody - @NuhdeenCoyleNow
