The Undertones will play their first hometown show in two years when they take to the stage of St Columb’s Hall on December 27th.
It’s a return to the venue where the band celebrated Derry’s year as UK City of Culture with a sold out performance of rock and roll music.
Talking about the gig the band said, “We’ve had a long connection with the hall in Orchard Street. One hundred yards up the street is the site of the famous Casbah, where we misspent our youth learning how to play punk rock songs.
“St Columb’s Hall is also the place where we filmed some of the ‘My Perfect Cousin’ video with Julien Temple. Our bass player hopes to find a guitar strap that he lost when the band had a practice space in a dusty basement of the hall in 1982!”
Now, as they prepare to mark their fortieth anniversary The Undertones round off a great 2015 with what is sure to be a night to remember.
Tickets available at Cool Discs, Foyle Street, Derry 028 7126 0770
