13. The Outer Edge of Ulster: A Memoir of Social Life in Nineteenth-Century Donegal by Hugh Dorian.
Hugh Dorian was born in Fanad in 1834, and worked as schoolteacher on the peninsula before moving to Derry with his family in the late 19th century, living first at Alexandra Place and then at Nelson Street, at which address he was dwelling in 1914 when he died. 'The Outer Edge of Ulster' is a rich memoir detailing the social and cultural history of Fanad during the 19th century. Also available as 'The Hard Road to Klondike' (translated by Valentin Iremonger), 'Rotha Mór an tSaoil' is the incredible life story of Cloughaneely native Micí MacGabhann.
