Mrs. O'Neill, speaking at the daily coronavirus press conference at Stormont, said that the evidence presented to the Executive by public health officials today suggested community transmission is at 'a low level at present'.

She said this allowed head room for the Executive to make some further conditional easements.

Among these is the reopening of barbers and hairdressers.

"If this continues to be the case then our hairdressers and our barbers will be permitted to open from July 6.

"This is a positive development for the economy as well as the wider well-being of the population.

"Those businesses should use this time to prepare for safe reopening by implementing all necessary protective measures," said the Deputy First Minister.
