‘Local success stories such as Game of Thrones and Derry Girls benefit all’
Lisa McGee’s hit Channel 4 sitcom was mentioned in the House of Commons this week when the north was described as a ‘beacon for the film industry across the world.’
NIO junior minister Robin Walker said: “Local success stories such as ‘Game of Thrones’ and ‘Derry Girls’ benefit every part of Northern Ireland.

Mr. Walker said the British Government introduced self-isolation exemptions in July for all international cast and crew working on qualifying TV and film productions, including in the north.
“This has seen important projects such as ‘The Northman’ and ‘Line of Duty’ restart filming, bringing significant investment to NI economy.”
