The new call centre, which according to reports could create hundreds of jobs, is located in the former factory based at Ballymacarry Lower, near the town’s entrance and fire station.

The new development has been welcomed by Donegal Cathaoirleach and Donegal County Councillor Nicholas Crossan, who said it will be hugely beneficial to the whole area. “Anything coming to Buncrana and Inishowen is very beneficial. When Fruit of the Loom closed, there was a huge deficit of jobs in the peninsula. The granting of planning permission is a good news story and is to be very much welcomed. Pat Doherty is well known and is a former recipient of the Tip O’Neill Diaspora Award. He owns many businesses, including The Redcastle Hotel and Lough Eske here in Donegal. It is very good to see him coming back to his hometown of Buncrana and creating a business and employment here.”
