Primark has identified when it may be able to reopen all of its outlets in the North, including Derry.

The retail giant was forced to shutdown because of the Coronavirus pandemic in March.

Primark has stores in Belfast, Derry, Omagh, Ballymena, Newtownabbey and Lisburn.

It is estimated that Primark lost out on £650m worth of sales for each month it remained closed over the lockdown.

Stores in England are scheduled to reopen on June 15 but outlets in Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales are being pencilled in to open towards the end of June.

"Primark is now working to re-open all its stores in England on 15 June, following the recent announcement by the UK Government," read a statement issued by Associated British Foods.

"At that date we expect to be operating from 281 stores representing 79 percent of total selling space. We await further guidance for the stores in Northern Ireland, Wales and Scotland and anticipate openings in late June."
