Tomorrow’s Engineers Week Future Minds Live saw 50 students from across the UK come together to explore their ideas for what engineering could achieve in the next 10 years.

The students Beth and Clara heard from inspirational engineers from four different sectors: entertainment, sport, technology, and environment. They were then invited to discuss their ideas for new innovations and how engineering could help shape these sectors in small groups. All attendees were given the opportunity to focus on the areas that they were most interested in and brainstorm their ideas together before presenting them to the rest of the group at the end of the event. Future Minds Live was hosted by broadcaster Fayon Dixon and engineer Simon Crowther.

Hopefully the students who took part in Future Minds Live will be particularly inspired to look more closely at a career in engineering and technology!”

The Tomorrow’s Engineers Week Future Minds Live broadcast will be available for all schools to view from 7 November, allowing them to hold their own discussions with students. A nationwide poll of students will then reveal the most popular ideas from the broadcast.
