31 new coronavirus cases in Derry and Strabane in the past week

There has been a noticeable increase in reported COVID-19 cases in Derry and Strabane over the past week.

Yesterday the Department of Health confirmed the number of positive SARS-CoV-2 cases in the district rose by 31 from Sunday to Sunday.

That was the fifth highest weekly increase in the north over the week.

Two hundred and sixty seven individuals in Derry and Strabane have now tested positive for the illness.

The largest weekly increases were in Mid and East Antrim (101), Belfast (82), Antrim and Newtownabbey (42) and Causeway Coast and Glens (32).

Across the north there were 374 new confirmed coronavirus cases over the past week and 675 new cases over the past fortnight.

The Department is due to publish updated figures this afternoon.
