74 people being treated at Altnagelvin with COVID-19

Seventy-four people remained in Western Trust hospitals at midnight last night, according to the latest data published by the Department of Health.

Eight out of ten (80%) ICU beds at Altnagelvin were occupied by COVID-19 patients and four of these patients were being ventilated, according to the daily dashboard published by DoH on Thursday.

Two ICU beds remained free at the Derry hospital.

In terms of general occupancy 21.75 per cent of beds at Altnagelvin were 'COVID-19 occupied', 71.75 per cent were 'other occupied' while there was 1.95 per cent of capacity still available in the system. A new figure of 4.55 per cent 'awaiting admission' was listed on Thursday afternoon.

There were no more deaths from the illness registered since yesterday. The death toll in the district remains at 45.
