8.13% capacity left at Altnagelvin with COVID-19 occupancy at just 2.71%

There was one new COVID-19 admission to Altnagelvin on Sunday when a girl aged under 20 was admitted to the Derry hospital.

At midnight on Sunday 17 people were being treated as coronavirus inpatients across all Western Trust hospitals.

Two of 10 (20%) ICU beds at Altnagelvin were being used to treat COVID-19 patients; seven (70%) were occupied by patients with other conditions and one (10%) was free.

Two ICU patients in total were being ventilated - one was a COVID-19 patient and one was a non-COVID-19 patient.

In terms of general occupancy 2.71% of beds at Altnagelvin were ‘COVID-19 occupied’, 84.34% were ‘other occupied’ and the hospital had 8.13% capacity left in the system; 4.82% were ‘awaiting admission.’

There have been no further deaths.
