Altnagelvin 1.81% over capacity with 13 new coronavirus admissions from all age groups this week

Thirteen people - including two young women aged between 20 and 39 - have been admitted to Altnagelvin after testing positive with coronavirus thus far this week.

In total 82 people were being treated as confirmed coronavirus inpatients in Western Trust hospitals at midnight on Tuesday.

Altnagelvin is now 1.81 per cent over capacity, according to the Department of Health daily update.

In terms of general occupancy 18.67 per cent of beds at Altnagelvin are 'COVID-19 occupied', 75.30 per cent are 'other occupied' and the hospital is 1.81 per cent over capacity: 6.02 per cent are 'awaiting admission' according to the latest data.

The South West Acute Hospital in Enniskillen is running at 9.04 per cent over capacity.

Three of ten (30%) ICU beds at Altnagelvin are being used to treat COVID-19 patients; five (50%) are occupied by patients with other conditions; and two (20%) are free.

Three ICU patients in total are being ventilated - one is a COVID-19 patient and two are non-COVID-19 patients.

Yesterday ten people were admitted to Altnagelvin with coronavirus. Two women, one aged between 20 and 39 and one aged between 70 and 79, were among the admissions.

Eight men were admitted - five were aged between 60 and 69, two were aged between 70 and 79, and one was over 80.

On Monday three women were admitted, one was aged between 20 and 39, one was aged between 40 and 49 and one was aged over 80.
