Altnagelvin 2.22 per cent over capacity but no new COVID-19 admissions or deaths

At midnight on Thursday 35 people were being treated as coronavirus inpatients across all Western Trust hospitals.

Five of 10 (50%) ICU beds at Altnagelvin were being used to treat COVID-19 patients; two (20%) were occupied by patients with other conditions and three (30%) were free.

Six ICU patients in total were being ventilated - five were COVID-19 patients and one was a non-COVID-19 patient.

In terms of general occupancy 8.54% of beds at Altnagelvin were ‘COVID-19 occupied’, 85.76% were ‘other occupied’ and the hospital was 2.22% over capacity: 5.70% were ‘awaiting admission.’

There have been no further deaths.
