Altnagelvin has 1.79% capacity left; total COVID-19 occupancy at Derry hospital 2.98%

One more person was admitted with COVID-19 to Altnagelvin yesterday - a woman in her 50s.

At midnight on Wednesday 21 people were being treated as coronavirus inpatients across all Western Trust hospitals.

Two of 10 (20%) ICU beds at Altnagelvin were being used to treat COVID-19 patients; three (30%) were occupied by patients with other conditions and five (50%) were free.

One ICU patient in total was being ventilated and that patient was a COVID-19 patient.

In terms of general occupancy 2.98% of beds at Altnagelvin were ‘COVID-19 occupied’, 91.07% were ‘other occupied’ and there was 1.79% capacity left at the Derry hospital; 4.17% were ‘awaiting admission.’

There have been no further deaths.
