Altnagelvin has 5.67% capacity left with no further COVID-19 deaths reported

A woman, aged in her fifties, was admitted to the Derry hospital on Thursday.

At midnight on Thursday 83 patients were being treated as coronavirus patients in Western Trust hospitals.

Seven of 14 (50%) ICU beds at Altnagelvin were being used to treat COVID-19 patients; three (21.43%) were occupied by patients with other conditions and four (28.57%) were free.

Six ICU patients in total were being ventilated - five were COVID-19 patients and one was a non-COVID-19 patients.

In terms of general occupancy 15.52% of beds at Altnagelvin were ‘COVID-19 occupied’, 74.93% were ‘other occupied’ and the hospital had 5.67% capacity left in the system: 3.88% were ‘awaiting admission.’

No further deaths were reported by the Department of Health on Friday.
