Altnagelvin has almost 10% capacity left in system as COVID-19 occupancy falls slightly

At midnight on Thursday 31 people were being treated as coronavirus inpatients across all Western Trust hospitals.

Five of 10 (50%) ICU beds at Altnagelvin were being used to treat COVID-19 patients; two (20%) were occupied by patients with other conditions and three (30%) were free.

Four ICU patients in total were being ventilated - three were COVID-19 patients and one was a non-COVID-19 patient.

In terms of general occupancy 6.27% of beds at Altnagelvin were ‘COVID-19 occupied’, 81.49% were ‘other occupied’ and there was 9.25 capacity left in the hospital system; 2.90% were ‘awaiting admission.’

There have been no further deaths.
