City Cemetery closed due to icy conditions

The City Cemetery will remain closed for a period this morning due to the icy conditions.

Derry City and Strabane District Council are carrying out salting to make it safe for pedestrians and cars.

Earlier this morning the PSNI issued a black ice warning to motorists.

"Numerous roads within the Derry City and Strabane area are currently hazardous due to the overnight frost. Please be careful. Road Service are currently deployed to make our journeys safer. Please consider your speed, and leave a suitable distance to the vehicle in front to help prevent any collisions," the police force said.
